LETTERS UNSENT
A sad love story woven with dead ends, dilemmas and broken hearts...
Cem sets out to see his father in his deathbed and returns to Amasra, which he fled 20 years ago. However, he can not even use his own name, he has to assume his dead brother Cemal's identity.
During the long years he has spent aboard ships, Cem has not forgotten Gülfem. Oceans have deepened his immeasurable love for her. When he reaches Amasra, Cem has to face his father's funeral. Cem's mother finds him responsible for Cemal's death, and her silence is too painful for him to bare. What scares him most is seeing Gülfem again, even though there is nothing more he wants in life... His friends welcome him back as Cemal while they are still grieving for Cem. Behind this tragedy, the shadows of the past military coup can be felt. Years ago, not long after Cem's death, Gülfem married Ali and they had a daughter, Ceren.
In the present time, Gülfem is still mourning for Cem. Ceren is broadcasting a radio program in a local radio. She is planning on going to a youth camp in South America. Ceren invites Cem, whom everyone knows as Cemal, to her radio program. She discovers, Cem has letters he never mailed. She starts reading the unsent letters out loud in her program. Gülfem overhears the letters read out by her daughter on the radio only to find out Cemal's real identity. She is deeply shaken...
The mysterious town surrounded by Byzantine ruins and the sea, can no longer keep its secrets... Things fall apart, confrontations take over... It feels like everything has been plotted and everyone is intentionally living out their fate. But what if "fate" is an ambush of our beloved ones?
